Macy has been a little bit outgoing lately.
{large understatement}
We had a talk about strangers.
{the one where some are good and some....not so much}
We also discussed how it is ok to say, "hi", but to never let someone hold you or get in the car with someone that you don't know...
{just the typical chester, creeper, stranger biz}
I am pretty sure that the only thing she has taken away from these conversations are:
a) the word "stranger"
b) the fact that she can say "hi" to them
That being said, she now says, "hi stranger" to EVERY SINGLE HUMAN BEING at EVERY SINGLE PLACE WE GO.
{the caps lock means I'm not joking}
Picture this, Jenni and Macy walking into the school to drop off shot records...
Macy:"Hi stranger."
{to random mom with kids}
Macy: "Hi stranger"
{to office employee}
Macy: "hi stranger, what's your name?"
{to other office employee}
you get the drift?
{its a tad out of hand}
Anywhoo...
Besides the obvious brief explanation that I give to every.single.stranger. nowadays
{about how we are "just learning about strangers."insert smiley face}
There have been at least 2 other situations that left my mouth dangling open.
here they are.
{you're welcome}
Real life scenario 1:
Macy and I are at the nail salon getting our pedicures.
As we are paying by debit, a new stranger walks in the door.
{Macy obviously notices}
She is around 50. Wearing a strapless sundress.
{the kind of dress that was pulling her ample breasts even more toward her belly button}
Macy: "hi stranger."
Me: smile ,"sorry, I've been teaching her about strangers lately."
Macy: "Why you not wear a bra?"
Stranger with obviously no bra on: "huh?"
Macy: "Why you not wear a bra?"
{not skipping a breath}
Stranger: silence.
Me: jaw dropped. Brain searching for anything to say...wishing the darn debit machine will HURRY!
finally,
Me: "haha, we have also obviously been learning about bras too."
{large smile}
We walked out of there pretty quickly.
{as Ms. boobies tugged her dress up a few inches}
{i couldn't make this stuff up}
Real life scenario 2:
Macy and I are at the grocery store near our house.
We were all checked out and walking out as an employee walks by and looks in Macy's direction.
Macy: "hi stranger"
Employee: "Hi sweetie"
Her voice says she is an obvious chain smoker.
{and she is missing several teeth}
Macy: "Wow, you lost a tooth!!! That's really great!!!"
Toothless woman: grins.
Macy: "YOU LOST LOTS OF TEETH!"
Macy: whispering {thank goodness!!}
"that's really crazy!"
Me: mouth hanging open, "That is great!"
Me: Walk very quickly to the car!!!
Nobody can say this baby isn't honest.
She tells it like she sees it.
Our next conversation might be, "ask mommy before you speak"
