-The Good, The Bad, and The Messy-

We took a family vacation with Jake's family. We went camping around BIG LAKE. It is near Eagar, so the weather was beautiful! We actually saw water fall from the sky...I think its called "rain" ? Here are a bunch of pictures.

{THE GOOD}
The first night we were driving up late, so we got to sleep in an actual bed. We stopped at the KC Motel in Show Low. (yes, the very same motel used for snowboarding trip 2002) I was able to shower in running water before the real camping began.

Look at the greenery!

Not only was it beautiful, but Tate got to spend a lot of time with his dad doing boy stuff! Riding motorcycles, golf carts, quads, eating dirt, rolling in dirt, hitting ground hogs with the wrist rockets, building forts, and fire!

We got to do "girl" stuff too. We read gossip mags., polished nails, ate, and laughed at our kids doing the stuff they do.

- Having FUN!
-getting a few extra winks in
(this is Jakes Dad relaxing in camp)

-Taking self portraits while riding down the trail with a golf cart full of kiddos.

Ashlinn really wanted to bring her bike...too bad she has outgrown it and it has flat tires- she doesn't know- she just loved it!

Spending time with cousins! It was Alexis' bday while we were there, so Amber and Chase brought up a pinata and cake- too fun. ( Alexis is middle top pic.)

Look at that sky!

{THE BAD}

Well, bad for Josh and Amy's dogs...Hallie and the other kids loved them too much.

Tate definately didn't love to be with me...he wanted dad. When Jake rode off, Tate got his crusty face on.

Lots and Lots of golf cart riding- the kids (and Jake) wanted to cruise the forest

Tate doesn't have a bike yet, so he had to ride Hallie's. The purple and pink big wheel was his friend!

{THE MESSY }

Jake and Chase built several "Man vs Wild" shelters for the "kids" to play in.

This fort was built on the side of a mountain. Just climbing up to it required skillz and a mess.

Dirty face.

There's no place like camping!

How fun! We're actually going to the same place at the end of August. It's a vacation I look forward to every year. The weather is always so beautiful.

I love that you classified "eating" as a "girl" thing to do! Totally agree! And please tell me why you are wearing your hair down- not in a pony tail- all curly and with a cute shirt and jeans on while CAMPING! You are too stinkin' cute. Good times at KC! Oh, and that fort is leggit. Kids these days have it way better camping than we did! Did someone say golf carts? :)

Good times doing "real" camping. We love to see the fun things you do. And your question about re-arranging posts...you can order and edit them. Call me sometime and I'll tell you how.
