During the winter, Jake promised Ashlinn and Hallie, that this summer they would go hiking.

{he did just as he promised}

Jake, ashlinn, hallie, the schmerfelds, and bigelows went up to beaver creek.

It is a 3 1/2 mile hike each way... and they had to carry everything on their backs.

Thanks to the beauty of the iphone I got pictures back from the trip.

Although I feared for their life in a few pics., I can tell they had a blast!

{I may be partial, but Jake may be the best dad in the entire world}

After walking 8 miles with backpacks on, sleeping on rock, and swimming in icy water, they zonked out.
