It is not unusual for me to call Jake in the middle of the day
and tell him a small miracle or tender mercy
that has happened during our day.

{Jake calls me with some too.}
Today is a big miracle.
As you may know Crew has developmental disabilities.
Because he has DD, he gets to go to a special pre-school
in the school district where he will get speech therapy (and others as needed).
in the school district where he will get speech therapy (and others as needed).
We have been fighting to get him into school since his 3rd bday,
but between the school district and case manager,
it hasn't happened.

Today we had our appointment.
I took my son to his "big boy" school for his
meet n' greet/evaluation.
meet n' greet/evaluation.
They showed him his new classroom and school bus.
He met the teacher.
After talking and testing, they handed him back over to me
and reviewed his IQ scores.
and reviewed his IQ scores.
{they are well within "normal" range}
I was surprised.
How could this be? He has DD?

Yes, you read that right,
my son that was born 9 weeks early, addicted to meth,
with respitory and eating issues, was neglected by bio family,
and lived in a hospital for weeks and weeks, grew up mainly in foster care,
and has recently moved families and homes,
is now "well- within" normal IQ range.

The psychologist and his case manager reviewed past test results
(from 6 months ago)
and told me that he used to be "mildly to moderately delayed",
but has made such great strides in the past few months that he has
NO MORE DELAY.

{it is a miracle}
Everyone in the room told me they have never
seen any child make a transformation like this.
seen any child make a transformation like this.
No "special preschool" for this guy.
They told me that he must know
we are his "forever" family and has just blossomed.

{I called Jake and cried}
Heavenly Father knew how to help us find our little boy
(and help him find us).
(and help him find us).
{and then help us thrive}
My heart is full.
{and so are my tear ducts}
Miracles happen.

That's awesome!! Way to go Crew! I'm sure it helps that he has amazing parents! He's such a cute boy!
Wow Jen. That really is a miracle. How wonderful that he is in a stable home, with loving parents and is able to thrive and grow to his full potential. How does it feel to have saved a life?
Can I get a whahoo for Crew! I bet that is so nice knowing you don't have to worry about "special school" ever again. Totally amazing
Wow, that is so awesome. Good job Crew!! He couldn't have done it without his wonderful parents and of course Heavenly Father.
Isnt' Heavenly Father kind that way. He delayed Crew just long enough to get you because that is where he is supposed to be forever. All in the plan and worked out years before you ever knew you needed him-----and he needed you!
What a wonderful miracle your family has been blessed with!
I'm tearing again. Love that little guy and his momma too!
I love this...see...love can change the world. ;)
