{Oh yeah...I am beyond excited.}
In only a few hours, we will be in the meeting we have been waiting for. "The Crew meeting" We aren't sure if we will get to meet him today, or just meet everyone that is in his life right now. (either way is a step in the right direction)
I hope it goes as perfectly... as I planned it in my head.
Over the past week (and more), we have been getting ready for his visits and his arrival. ( I have had 3 small sets of hands doing alot of "helping" too)
Don't worry, his new bed has had plenty of people trying it out.
Today is also a big day for Ashlinn, she is the student of the day. She is the line leader, class helper, and gets to bring in pictures of herself and her toys. She has been waiting for her turn since school began over a month ago.
As we were buying her school clothes this year, she picked several skirts. When she picks her clothes each morning, she chooses shorts...everyday. I asked her why she doesn't wear skirts or dresses anymore...."because I can't run away from the boys as fast when I wear a skirt." Oh. I tried explaining how we bougtht these skirts and I would really love if she would wear them... sometimes. Nothing. Just as I began questioning my role as her female role model, she came into me and said "Mom, do you know how to put jewels on the pockets of my shorts?"
I feel better now.
I have also worried about sharing my time and attention with another kiddo. (especially on those days when I feel like my plate is already full...or overflowing) I know that Tate is such a spitfire, that he will have some trouble adjusting, but will get used to it quickly (I hope) . Hallie ,on the otherhand, is my snuggly girl. She loves attention...my attention. I have really thought about this transition for her. Ashlinn is such a leader that she doesn't mind how many people are following her. She has such a big heart and doesn't mind sharing everything. I also feel like she totally understands what to expect. Not to mention Crew...he will be starting an entirely new life. How will I help an almost 3 year old bond with us while still having time for everyone else? ( I feel tired just thinking about it.)
As I have been praying for help, I got a strong answer.
"Whom the Lord calls, He qualifies." (Neal A. Maxwell)
The Lord is the One who let us know that this is what step our family needed to take, and so I KNOW He will take up the slack...when I am not enough.
I can't wait for today!
