back to back camping.

The first 2 weeks in September the weather lightened up a little bit.
Although it was often still scorching during mid day, the overnight temps dropped.
YESSSSSSSS!
Luckily this happened just in time for 2 camping trips we had planned.
{2 weeks in a row}
{sweating plus camping equal bad}

Lets me spell it out for you.
I love camping with kids.
They have so much fun!
I love that they can get dirty.
I love that they can spill their food and drinks without a worry.
I love that the plans for the day include
a) sitting in a lawn chair
b) going for a walk
c) making dinner
Vacation!
{if only I could figure out how to sleep!!!!!!}

The first weekend was a ward campout.
With so many ward friends there it was pure fun.
Although the sleep couldn't come.
{there were some really restless kids in the tents near ours}
{did I mention that one of my sons had a doodoo accident in his pants?}
{well, he did.}
{camping may be the hardest place to clean a poo situation}
Overall, it was loads of fun.

The following weekend was a family campout with the WIllis'
My boys walked around and hit anything they could find with a giant stick.
{and this wasn't a problem at all}
Macy had an audience of many and could follow kids around all day long.
Ashlinn and her oldest cousin Kenzie were explorers that rarely made an appearance into camp.
{hence the lack of their photos}
Hallie and her cousin Carter hung out at the water hole for hours skipping rocks.
{or trying to skip rocks}

Jake {and the other men} helped get Travis' truck unstuck.

Oh, and 3 out of my 5 children had a #2 accident or mishap this camping trip too.
{and Macy wasn't one of them}
I think we may be forever an indoor plumbing sorta family.

I love the drive home.
Everyone is exhausted, happy, and filthy.

We really sent the "camping season" out with a bang.
